sunshine coast Photoshoot Locations
Here are a list of the locations I use on the Sunshine Coast which do not incur an additional travel fee. Engagement session are FREE with most package. Portrait sessions are also available which include family, maternity, newborn, pet etc via my portrait photography business Timeless Treasures AUS which can be found on Instagram.
Sessions have a suggestion of Sunrise or Sunset for that perfect golden hour glow however if you would like another time of time, this is totally fine. It is important to keep in mind that weekend sessions can become few and far between especially during PEAK wedding season (march-may & late august - early nov). It is important to try to book in advance. Weekdays have greater availability.
Occasionally, the weather will mean we need to postpone. I keep track of weather updates looking 10-7 days in advance and I will suggest if it looks like we should move. You should consider moving the session if you know you want sunshine and not overcast, HOWEVER I will show how locations look at both sunshine and overcast. Overcast makes for beautiful images however this is not always the look clients want.
My biggest piece of advice is that, we cannot control the weather on your wedding day, so we may as well try to control it as much as we can on the engagement session.
SHELLY BEACH, CALOUNDRA - SUNRISE
Dog friendly & Easier parking
SHELLY BEACH CALOUNDRA - SUNSET
Dog friendly & Easier parking
POINT CARTWRIGHT - SUNSET
Would not recommend on a weekend due to popularity of spot and nightmare parking
Petrichore Estate - Maleny
Glasshouse mountain views and farm landscape. $200 fee to use the property paid to property owners.
Irwin Road & surrounds (Beerwah)
GLASSHOUSE MOUNTAINS LOOKOUT
BUDERIM WATERFALLS
Best around 2.5 - 2 hrs before sunset due to the tall trees. Recommend walking shoes as it requires around a max 1.5km walk along boardwalk.
GLASSHOUSE MOUNTAINS - SUNSET
Emu Mountain (Near Coolum) - sunset
This location to get to the top does involve a small hill walk of about 5-10 min depending on pace. I would not recommend this location to those with small children they do not want to carry up, elderly people or if you struggle with hill climbs. However, as you can see… it’s worth the climb to the top especially for sunset!
Sunshine Beach - Sunset
Dog Friendly. Would not recommend on a weekend due to somewhat limited parking.
